Deaf – Hard of Hearing

Nobody gets it.

You find yourself thinking about the stress you’ve been under lately at work.

You know you need to talk to someone.

Of course, you’ve possibly tried talking to your friends and family about it, but they can’t give you truly objective insight – or help you deal with the stress.

And it can get lonely.

You’ve made a decision.

You want to expand your social circle and meet new people; however, you sometimes feel even more lonely and isolated than before when you attempt to do it.

Or maybe you’ve realized you’re now ready to face some unresolved issues from your past.

You know you need a helping hand to get through – to make it to the next level.

But it can’t be just anyone.

Navigating life as a person with a hearing loss (D/deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind) provides a sense of joy, pride, community, and identity.

However, it does not mean it’s not frustrating at times. Seeking therapy, you find yourself nervous – finding someone to meet your unique communication needs may be challenging.

You need someone who has knowledge and experience with American Sign Language (ASL) and can communicate the way you and the Deaf community do.

Someone who understands the Deaf culture and identity.

Someone who has experienced the trauma and oppression (audism, language deprivation) faced by members of the Deaf community.

Look no further – I can help.

I’ve got the experience and education you need to help you with your specific issues.

I can help get you to the place where you can begin processing and understanding yourself better. In doing so, you will start living your best life where you can ultimately be yourself inside and out.

True self-acceptance and self-love are rooted in self-understanding, the fact you are here, you are much closer than you think.
